Both are dogs are mutts. One is a Rottwieller mix and the other is a
chow and possibly newfoundland mix. The rott mix is about 6 years old
and does his job well. The other is still a pup but is learning fast.
Both are extremely friendly and would love to have a gang of kids fuss
and play with them all day. The rott we got from our vet the other from
a dying customer who needed homes for his dogs fast.

Both are large dogs each at 65LB+

It takes a couple of years to train a dog to be a good farm dog and the
younger you get one the better. Both of ours came to us at around 6
months of age and we did have problems with both (still having problems
with the younger one but the get less each day, the older dog has taken
on a lot of the education duties). So be patient and you will get a good
dog. I don't think breed really matters as much as how the are taught
and the age you get the dog.

I'd check out the pound and all the local vets for a dog. There are many
good dogs needing homes out there.
