You're right. That's why I specified seedling bindweed. If it's mature, I
don't think it'll work. On the other hand, if you keep burning down a
plant's photosynthetic tissue, at some point it runs out of food and begins
to starve. Each species will vary in it's ability to stand up under the
pressure of burn-down. I think it would take a long time with mature
bindweed. But because seedling bindweed hasn't had a chance to build massize
rhizomes, it shouldn't take too long to deplete it's energy reserves. Same
with any other perennial weed in the seedling stage, such as burdock, hemp
dogbane, etc.
Now,.. lemon? Maybe olive oil, basil and a little sweet marjoram. Throw in
some dandelion too.
