Good day:)

I'm looking for special people/family with vision, energy and talents to help
build a 450 acre plus farm/preserve in beautiful rural area in south central
Kentucky into a model for sustainable agriculture, and forestry.

We are seeking folks who share our enthusiasm for nature, and desire a
simpler, more wholesome lifestyle. There are excellent opportunities to build
cottage enterprises. Lots of synergism for the right folks.

The ad below is similar in tone to our desires. If interested please contact
earthfarm1 AT aol.com. Best to all. Frank

<< Farm Manager Wanted: Organic farm seeks farm manager for 2002 season and

wildlife and wilderness values in the eastern Adirondacks. Seeking
individual(s) - possibly a couple -
interested in helping build a human community that lives
in harmony with the surrounding
natural community. Assume full care and responsibility for
our small, market garden/organic farm. Lease or employment
arrangements considered. >>

Bill, Could you ask your brother when does he harvest his fingerling
potatoes, after the tops have died back or does he cut back the green tops
and harvest like new potatoes. Also, I checked out the growitalian.com
site, very nice. I have requested a catalog; I am always looking for
something different.

Dont have to ask my brother. I helped him harvest the damn things. I am too old to be doing the pitchfork routine with potatoes. He lets them go until the tops die back. Not sure you would want to try the new potato route since the fingerlings are pretty small in any case. They do fetch a premium price. They also taste mighty good. You might want to bring in a few 'samples' for the first few markets you do. Once people get hooked on them, they do not want to go back to regular potatoes. Recommend you do as much as you can to keep the weeds down.

PS If they will buy lemon grass where you are from, you ought to try the liscia verde chard.
