Or put the cornmeal, salt and pepper in a plastic bag, toss in a bunch of the sliced okra, and shake to coat! From a Yankee who learned to LOVE okra while living in Texas. Fried okra, okra and tomatoes, okra in gumbo--Yum Yum!
