My parents bought their first TV when I was 1 month old.

I was 13 in 9th grade study hall when Kennedy was shot and the announcement came over the intercom. Still in study hall when they announced that he had died.

Of course I remember Little Lulu, penny candy and nickle Cokes. Does anyone remember "Captain Midnight" and "Sergeant Preston of the Yukon"? (I owned 1 square inch of the Yukon in a little leather bag) Who could forget Winky Dink? I wrote on the TV with a crayon to decode the secret message until my parents discovered it. So, I had to wait until I got my plastic screen overlay. I don't know how many jars of Ovaltine I hid under the kitchen counter (you sure couldn't drink the stuff).

This could go on forever.
