Sorry some folks have such trouble borrowing from FC, the system is divided
into regional districts and our northeast is probably the most diversified
and sustainable farming area in the USA and for that reason ag lenders must
adapt to our ways of farming if they want to loan money,I don't know if
someone from another district can borrow from another more favorable
district, once a member of FC you become an associate voting member, you are
invited to annual meetings and are encouraged to aire your grevences, members
who are farmers can also run for elected positions on the board of directors
and set policy, many of my neighbors have been on the board and probably
thats why we can get loans easily.
No matter what type of farm you have be it big or small, having access to
capital is very important to our survival and its a subject we seldom talk
about,I can tell you most sucessful farms spend alot of time working with
lenders perhaps smaller farms should do the same... good luck to
