Del -I agree with all the points you made -- and enforcement is always a
problem, whether your market manager is a volunteer (as our is) or a paid
person.

Earlier someone posted about their market policy that vendors could be a
designated seller, but only for another market member. We have that policy
as well, as it allows our vendors to still have their products available on
the occasions when they cannot be present for whatever reason. It's worked
fairly well, and still gives the Board or Manager the "legal" right to
inspect if questions arise. I don't think there is any perfect management
technique -- just those that do the best they can to provide a viable market
for the vendors (so they can afford to keep on selling there) and furnish
the personal credibility that customers want and that keep the market's
reputation positive.

If anyone comes up with a perfect way to work a market, committe, board of

directors, or whatever, out of a group of people anywhere.....that I'd like
to see.
