It is essential that honest markets operate under carefully thought out
by-laws. It is EXTREMELY important for the "authorities" to be given
a clear mandate, and be made to jump through as few hoops as possible,
to first determine who is cheating and then to remove those offenders.

It would appear that your market may not be operating under such rules.
I stress: it is important to get these things straightened out at the
beginning. It becomes much more difficult, in many cases impossible,
to do it later. Clauses and loopholes that seem reasonable at the time
they are adopted will likely lead to abuses. The best rule is "if you
did not grow it and can prove that you grew it, you can not sell it".
No exceptions, no excuses, no loopholes.

I have seen no trouble arising from allowing family members or
employees to sell for a farmer. Though, obviously, allowing one seller
to represent more that one farmer at one time would lead to abuse.
