Lee:
I sterlize all my pots and flats in a solution of sodium hypochlorite
("Clorox") and water - 1 T sodium hypochlorite to 1 Gallon water.
Leave in soak one minute, and drain dry.
I make and sell hot sauce (I'm the Chile Man) - raise the peppers, have
a "commercial kitchen" in the house - and must sterilize my bottles
before bottling. I use the same 1T/1 Gal. solution, as recommended by
Virginia's Food Safety department. It's the one minute soak that kills
any bugs.
Good luck -
Robert.
