I have to chime in and agree with Mr. D'hondt. It takes a few seasons to prepare a field properly, and years to develop the skills to farm, couple that with the fact that people expect change to occur within less than an election cycle supported by bobble heads still talking about 'competition' as a remedy to modern economic problems and I think the sort of 'change' people a driven towards isn't a pretty picture. I have to filter this with my own tendency to be pessimistic and over reactive of course, but I think this is reflected in the polarism were seeing in most of the world today.

Will people who don't know how to grow or don't want to change their attitude? How bad does it have to get first?

I am afraid the most likely change in attitude might be slightly different than what you expect Paul. Growing when one gets hungry will take too long. So taking whatever is available is possible the profession with the most growth potential?
