I was actually suggesting that you invest more in staggered cold-season crops like those Brussels Spouts, Kale and other Cabbage relatives.  Those, Endives and Peas are growing great for me, tho this has been our worst weather.  Crunchy crunchy fresh snow peas, yum yumm.  ....  I need to make a stir-fry. :9

Cabbage will sit on the plant for extra time, my only annoyance right now is waiting until they are ready.  This season and these crops all tend to be very pest free. I love it.

<< Last season I did try staggering carrots and beans but the grasshoppers picked last year to invade midsummer. I'll plant those early this time, as early as possible. We can however leave root vegetables in the beds mulched in fall for winter eating after markets are done for the season. Got some fine brussels sprouts in early winter, froze some peppers and tomatoes.>>
