CHEERING!!!
What a great post.. About time someone set whiners on their ear..
But with this thought in mind, if you trace Native American culture you will find that even they practiced the strong take from the weaker nations. Many tribes took land from lesser tribes and the lesser tribes had to move on or be exterminated.
The article before spoke of "indians" do they mean people from india (c:
I'm thinking we are all Savages deep within our heart. When push comes to shove, we will do whatever we can to survive.. If Golf Course bring money to the tribe we will endorse golf courses. Question?  Why do all the whack jobs jump on every new PC idea that comes along..??  Have you also ever noticed that it is the people that "have it all" bitching the loudest?  I still see hummers and huge SUV's driving the highways and by-ways around here..
If we want a true living land I'm for banning pleasure driving of huge cars.. Everyone who doesn't need a HUGE gas guzzler for work should be fined to death..  LOL

As to water!!  I see so many folks watering their "LAWNS" what is up with this lawn fixation?

Let's keep in mind that water pumping is causing sinkholes and dry wells in locations all over the country, and that city development (such as San Diego as you mention) long ago exceeded local water supplies - without being able to blame it on the "Indian savages". In such cases I'd name the developers as the true savages. In some cases everybody tries to sue everybody else, nothing unique about casinos. BTW no one ever criticizes the country clubs that have a thousand times more golf courses than the Indians.

I'd also point out that reservations don't just claim sovereignty, they have every legal, moral, and historical right to absolute, unlimited use of their own land - what little is left after cheating them out of 99% of it. A great deal of our state, NM, is sovereign tribal lands, but as usual it's the most useless areas for farming or living. 80% of the Dine' population must live without electricity, which amounts to hundreds of thousands of people. Few of us could survive in such extreme deprivation. And we just might get the chance to try. Karma's a bitch.
