 The ones I had that were bitter were well watered, and even grew huge.
 Some were not bitter.
 But I found that the variety can also make a lot of difference.
 I always had great results with a variety called marketMore.
 the ones that grew so many that were bitter were straight eight.

The usual reason that cucumbers become bitter is lack of or uneven watering/rain.
