You set how much RAM you want XP to have access to. I only have 1GB of RAM so I set it at 256 until my other 1GB chip comes in. Then I'll give it 512... But it's not using it if you're not using XP. When you run you memory intensive apps on OSX don't have XP started.... easy enough...
