There is only one Time Warner cable box that has firewire - the SA 3250 HD (Version 2.1). Note the version 2.1 - it's important :)

it's a free upgrade, but it's not part of regular training, so staff may need to be shown the web page to let them know it's real.

It doesn't have a build in PVR, but that doesn't really matter, because you can use a computer to control it and record programs directly - e.g. MythTV http://www.mythtv.org
