If your goal is "more gun control," treating guns like cars wouldn't be
likely to shake out the way you might like. Firearms are already regulated
far more strictly than automobiles -- and cars aren't Constitutionally
protected.

An interesting article by Dave Kopel takes a look at that premise, including
some comparisons between the dangers of cars, guns and alcohol.
