Now I'm hungry, with a taste for sushi.

For what its worth, sushi, basic nori sushi in particular, is not that hard to prepare by anyone retaining the nimble fingers of their youth.  And you can make it exactly the way you want. I like lotsa avocado and salmon with a hint of cucumber. Getting sushi quality fish is the hardest part. I've had great success with nova salmon from the grocery store as well as fresh fish. The basic materials are available from an Asian grocery, Japanese preferred, at about 1/10 th the cost of the same materials at Lowes. It is honest work to make sushi, but I find time to enjoy a beer or two during the process so I rarely notice. I still run up substantial bills at sushi bars but not as often as before and I enjoy it more knowing how hard a crunchy shrimp roll is to make.
