Call me a Territorial Bitch, but Akai Hana is in Carrboro. It is
*only* located in Carrboro. It is not located in Chapel Hill. It is
also not located in Chapel Hill/Carrboro, nor any derivation of those
names.

Again, Akai Hana is in CARRBORO. And it is the BEST Sushi In The
Triangle.

The only other place that even comes CLOSE is Waraji in Raleigh. An
excellent establishment that I can recommend over and over again.

On the negative side, these places are expensive. But that is the only
negative. Everything else is plus, plus, plus!

The problem with many (but not all) of these other suggestions is that
"low-cost sushi" is some disgusting new trend in the USA and folks just
imagine that they should get a whole plate of sushi for what they pay
for a Happy Meal. Well, much like routing hardware -- You get what you
pay for.

So many of these "others" have I been dragged to, only to find dried
out cuts of lesser fish. Some had a glaze on them which told me they
had been spinning on the rotating display for a while. Like 5 days.
It makes me retch.

If you would like to avoid retching, go to either Akai Hana or Waraji.
My guarantee is no good at any other sushi venue.

Penang is "okay." I like their Thai noodle dishes a helluva lot more
than their sushi.
