I thing I am getting tired of reading is that a Majority of Americans voted
for Bush. This is nowhere near the case. A more accurate description is 52%
of those that cast a vote for US President, voted for Bush. I believe a
plurality of registered voters decided not to vote (more than voted for
Bush).

According to CNN 59,268,900 voted for Bush. According to the CIA World Fact
book, the US population is 293,027,571 (July 2004 est.):

According to the US Census Bureau, as of 2003 there were 212,622,000 US
citizens over age 18 living in the US (Cell B32):

While some may have lost their right to vote, (felons, mentally incompetent,
etc.), I figure there are at least 195,000,000 eligible voters. According to
a paper by the Brookings Institute, about 10% of US citizens are not
eligible to vote, though there are also an unknown number of US citizens
living abroad who are (they estimate at least 3.5 million):

While I am not disputing that Bush won the election, it was certainly not
with the support of a majority of Americans, more like 31%. It is shameful
that more US citizens chose not to vote, than voted for the winner.
