Per recommendations on this list, I've decided to transfer my domains to
Godaddy. The price was right, and Dotster's customer support spam was
getting out of hand. (Besides that, they signed me up for their
auto-renew function without telling me, and tried to charge renewal fees
with it -- fortunately there was no valid credit card on file. That sort
of crap pisses me off to no end.)

The .org transferred fine on the first try. No problem. The .net and
.com, however, are being problematic. Godaddy says the transfer was
denied, and that the domains are locked or on hold. (Twice now.) After
the first try failed, I asked Dotster's support about it, and they told me
the domains were active/not locked. Then I retried the transfers and got
the same thing.

About the time all this started, I noticed that Dotster was reporting some
very old info about some of the domain contacts. Since Dotster has never
contacted me for transfer approval, I wonder if they've been using this
info. (If they're trying mail, or phone, they won't find me, although
the email address is the same.)

Anyone else had trouble with Dotster? How'd you resolve the
situation? Anyone got a phone number where I can reach (and scream at) a
real live human?

Thanks,
--Sil
