I'm not sure about that; if you've still got the receipts, you shouldn't
be in any danger whatsoever, and I'd guess that most judges/juries would
accept a jewel case, in good condition, as "proof" that the disc was
purchased but the media lost. (No lawyers here, tho, just common sense.)

I do agree with this.... saayy, didn't you store some offsite-backups of
your CDs? I can't remember where you stored them all...
