I don't know what it is about those who design schedules for college
classes, but nearly everyone I've ever talked to who took calc as a
freshman was forced to take it at some godawful early hour, like 8:00am
or 8:30, or even 7:30. Including me. I think its hazing, for both the
freshmen >and< the low-level grad-student TA drudges who get stuck
teaching the classes. I know I would have learned way more calculus and
been a far better student had the class been available sometime after
10am. And my TA might have been more coherent, too.
