Thanks to Joanna Wolfe, I now have a lovely type 6 usb Sun keyboard
attached to my mac. And it works fine under OS X. Still deciding whether
its as nice as the old type 5s, but so far things look good. (I'm going
to give myself a couple of weeks before making a final decision, to let
my poor, PC/Mac-style keyboard-ruint finners a chance to recover from the
years of damage ;) Finger memory really does matter. But it's been three
or four years since I used an old type 5, which I remember being a bit
heavier than this kb.

Also, if you get a PC-format keyboard (like this one) it is possible to
map the caps lock to control key (though you still have the annoying
dashboard light effect, which a bit of whiteout fixed handily) using
this nifty little kernel extension:

http://www.gnufoo.org/ucontrol/ucontrol.html

Careful, though - if you're already running something like DoubleCommand
or iJect, it will conflict with your install of uControl.

Next, to find out if the Mac can be configured to make use of the 3-button
Sun mouse :)

Thanks to Joanna and the folks who replied.
Steve
