Bill,

I just got a Nikon Coolpix 4300 for father's day. I like it so far (it is
really Nikon Quality),
and I think it is in your price range. It is a 4 Megapixel and use compact
card for memory storage.
Mine had an extra 128 MB card so I can take quite a few pics with it.
Before I had a Minolta Dimage-V that I loved, but it died in a 6 feet fall
on
concrete floor.
