There is rumor of a new 15" PowerBook in the near future, but the 17" is so
new it probably will not be upgraded for 4-7 months. The towers , on the
other hand, may see a major upgrade in the next few months.
As a side note to Drew, I have a machine similar to yours (dual 500) and I
would suggest dropping some more RAM in it, especially if you are running OS
X. RAM is not as cheap as it was, but you should be able to find 512MB for
about $75. I think you need a minimum of 512MB for OS X to be happy. I have
1.5GB of RAM in mine, from back when RAM was really cheap (about $1 per MB).
Konfabulator looks neat--I'll check it out.
