Hey David,

I think that in order to have a compat mode work, the underlying
processor needs to be the same. So, that would probably work
for linux apps compiled for power PC, but probably not for
apps compiled on x86. It's relatively easy to take something
written for the same processor and run it (this is what WINE
does) but going so far as to translate the OP codes from one
machine to another is quite another matter.
