A lot of those "Communist Goals" have come to pass, although I don't see them all as bad things. They were done by many different people and groups over many years...do you think the communists arranged it all? If so, American politicians, institutions, and people fell right in line.
I think it is possible that it is all part of a master plan, yes, but I prefer to believe as you do that there is no plot, just a reaction to corruption and normal social evolution. I want to believe that it is all coincidence, but I can't shake the notion (now even I am saying 'the notion' OMG, I'm brainwashed!<g>) that somehow our country is a puppet of someone...I don't know who. The Chinese are a patient enemy and have long said that they will inherit the US after we have collapsed. The Chinese have most of the ports now, the Superhighway plans are still on the books, and Walmart is in place as a great distribution system throughout North America. If they convert or eliminate the people, China doubles their territory. How's that for a conspiracy theory?? <G> Seriously, I doubt that would be the case, but it is hard to get these things out of your head sometimes. Maybe the Boogeyman isn't the Chinese or the Russians, maybe it is the Bilderbergers or others who want world population to be 30 million....
I don't know if it was arranged, or by who, but it seems logical that Communist countries would have a long term plan for us the way we feed MTV and blackmarket goods to Iran. They are subjected to our long term plans, so I am not naive to think that such things don't exist. We should never underestimate our enemies. For 100 years, Marxist ideas are growing in popularity as world population increases. Perhaps Capitalism isn't the best system either, but a lot of people in the world are certainly enamored with the system...you don't hear too many people enamored with Communist or Socialist countries. The end result might end up being that Communism and Capitalism will duke it out and weaken each other. In the process, the people become lost sheeples. Out of that chaos, that desperation, Islam will emerge, as it is a religion, an economic and financial system, a system of government, a leglislative and justice system, and a social model. Islam will gobble up the undecided masses of Europe first. I think it is already happening, and the US and Canada will be next. Already, some of Obama's advisors have promoted sharia in certain legal cases(Harold Koh and Magahed). These are slow, bloodless processes in general. I honestly wish I knew what the truth really was.
I don't like that the author ties the "demoralization of our country" directly to the Supreme Court decision that Bible reciting in schools was unconstitutional.
I agree. I think the demoralization came when families were split either by divorce, both parents working, etc. You just can't expect child care providers(non-familial) to do the job of the parent and instill a sense of morality and righteousness to children. There is no longer a close knit village to help raise a kid. In the old days, I was just as afraid of my friends Dad as I was my own...it was a different world. Add in that kids are no longer outside learning to deal with conflict by playing and socializing, but are inside blasting away their conflicts on video games, and you end up with kids who have no sense of reality and morality. IMO, that is why so many are coming back from the Middle East so messed up. Of course, many veterans from previous wars have come back with PTSD and other disorders, but this generation of soliders did not go into this with a realistic expectation of what would happen. They'd been kicking ass on Ghost Recon, and think they are invincible. Oh well...that's kind of simplistic, but I am just not good at expressing myself.
My public school teacher that year (1962-3) was a
minister, and we spent more time on Bible recitations and religious songs than any school subject.. I (never a religious person, even at age 7) was very glad when I got out at the end of the school year...I escaped unindoctrinated into his religion, despite his best efforts on a captive audience :-). Getting rid of religious indoctrination in schools is one 'communist goal' I'm glad succeeded.
I am not religious, as you know, but I think there is great hypocrisy and double standards in our separation of church and state doctrine. Our children can't pray before a football game, but a president(both Bush and Obama did this) can celebrate the feast of Ramadan with a state dinner. We have God on our Money, but not in our courthouses...Muslim girls cannot wear hijabs to school, but Jewish boys can wear yamakas and anyone can dress up like Satan on Halloween. It is craziness, and sometimes I think we have lost the spirit of that separation of religion and government.
