I wonder if that is due to the milder temperatures in that area? We've
had more than 40 days of 103-105+ degree highs in my area this summer
and the same for much of Texas, and I think that new case reporting
slacked off as soon as the mercury started to rise in earnest.
How mobile is the population in Wisconsin? There is a lot of
trans-state traffic (and a lot of cross-border traffic) in Texas, at
least between the major metro areas. From what I recall, you could
essentially track the spread of H1N1 across Texas by following the
interstates east from Mexico. Many wealthy folks from Mexico City
regularly travel to Central Texas, Houston, and Dallas/Ft Worth to
shop.
