I'm not doing too bad in my spring tasks. Got a lot more work to do
over the next month. Today, I took a break and loaded up some big
rocks I've unearthed and had tucked away at the edge of fields. I
brought them up to the house and just about finished the little rock
border around the front flower bed. I used a few to start a similar
border around an herb garden.

Got most of the way through the herbs, weeding, planting a few things
and what not. Planted a few cilantro seeds and some Clary Sage that
I'd started inside. I've got these little sunflowers coming up from
last years seed all over the herb garden, so I'm leaving a few of
them. Also cleaned up around the lilacs that I've got out by the road,
I planted them last year, so they are still tiny.

I hope everyone is making sure to spend some time on flowers. One of
the nice pleasures of homesteading. I'm planting flowering tobacco and
some new marigolds this year, plus the normal stuff. I've collected
some of the really small seeded sunflowers, they usually have lots of
branches with blooms. The birds love those seeds and usually they
manage to self seed. I've got a 100 foot or so bed along a fence that
I'm putting in at least one row of sunflowers. It makes a really nice
display when the birds start feeding on the seed.
