Half-breed is "sorta" offensive. I corrected you because, historically, you either were a member of the tribe or you weren't. Traditionally, before the white man and his pedigrees, The People didn't look to blood to prove Indianness.
I was just giving you info so that if you should come across a Cherokee and say that so and so your great-whatever was a "half-breed chief," they wouldn't scalp you <g>
And I just wanted to be sure that you didn't go around calling your great-whatever a ho <g>
Now, back to the first part. Did your whomever say that you had a whatever that was a chief? If so, red or white? And, yes, that is a serious question and no it doesn't refer to skin color.

Of course I know what it means; you just told us a week or two ago :-).
I didn't know that half-breed was offensive; But, it takes about two seconds now that you mention it to understand why it would be -- it is something more from tv thsn anywhere; and I don't know, if before, I have ever fad the occasion to use the expression -- always a white guy, though (Stuart Whitman, Tony Curtis ?), .
But, You know that if I offended you in any way, I am sorry. I'm always learning, and sometimes I make a 'new' mistake. The Indian Princess part I borrowed from you, but the other part, I will not use again........

Ah, do you per chance know what "Indian princess"
means? In the current
venecular it is a two letter word.
BTW, just a note, in the Cherokee people, they would never
have called
anyone a half-breed.
So, was he red or white?
