Uncle Judson would be Cherokee and whatever. Or whatever and Cherokee, depending on who you are taking to. Or, if his mother was a tribal member and he became a tribal member, then historically, traditionally and technically, he would be Cherokee. No princesses, and rarely a chief <g> Half-breed is a white term and not one of endearment <g>

I don't want to cause a war of words here, but think I've missed
something. My uncle Judson's mother was Cherokee and his father of
European extraction. What is the proper way to describe his ethnicity?

I'm just wanting to get up to speed on this.
