O.K., the middle class as defined until recently when talking empty-heads got hold of the word, was "A social class of business or professional people, also known as the Bourgeoisie." Not a synonym for "working class"!

I don't give a dead rat's patooty about the "middle class." I'm a tad more worried about the WORKING CLASS! The folks making $56,000 and less.

My sixty year old neighbor who moved here from Miami; new house, brand new BMW, all the stuff; recently had a devastating stroke. His boyfriend can't find his money, even with private investigators. He has already sold his car for him, he (my neighbor) will be losng his house. He is walking , but still can't talk. The boyfriend says he has the early signs of 'sun-downerns' and will have to go to a care-home.

The boyfiend has moved in to help as much as possible. They think he has a ton of money somewhere. I have no idea, he hasn't been here long enough for wife and I to become real friendly. He blew into Phoenix , loaded, less than two years ago. Now, to a not-so-bright ending. We all can be humbled by means beyonfd our control........bobford

p.s. I still say that actual 'hard-working' middle class (or what-ever label) will be hurt more than those who bought Ship's bell Clocks from Tiffany's on Credit

It's sad, I suppose, that the 'formerly middle
class' can't shop at
Tiffany's anymore, or buy a new BMW. As I read that
article, I kept thinking
about the Great Depression. There were people who
couldn't afford food or
shelter; people died from being poor. That could happen
today, but it won't
be the middle class. They will be whining about having to
live on one income
or not having the money to see a shrink to talk about the
truama of being
downwardly moble.
