I just took a cursory look, but that's cool. Tonight I will look at it a bit closer..thanks for the link.
How much and what type of grain are you thinking of? I know we touched on this a few weeks back.

Bev,

Something I started doing last year was using Plan Garden online www.plangarden.com to plot out my beds, keep track of when I planted and harvested. I used to try to do this on paper, but paper doesn't fare well in our home (gets lost, eaten by an animal, or splashed with unidentified fluids, etc.). Today I was able to see it was time to order onion sets for January planting. There's a way to publish it online to share with others, but I haven't gone that far yet.

As for the future, we are shopping around for more fruit trees and I plan to air layer one of the figs and root blackberry cuttings to propagate more. We are considering growing grain. And we continue our Healthy Harvest group meetings of sharing seeds, produce, etc. and will be planting a little extra to sell at the Farmer's Market.

I know y'all probably think all I do is think and post about politics, but I really do have more going on than that. Currently, I'm planning for not only next year's garden, but for the next few years. I want to grow things for seed next year so that I will have fresher seed for the years beyond that.
This is really the first time I have intentionally planted seed for seed collection purposes as opposed to food purposes. I am kind of worried about crossing things, so I have to be careful. I want to grow multiple squashes, but I have to figure out exactly how to do that in a small area. I'll be growing lots of paste tomatoes as well. I indulged myself this year and grew slicers, but I think I should concentrate more on the paste types....more bang for the buck.
I've spoken offlist to James about corn and OP distancing and timing, and I think I now have a plan for my place on that. Thanks again, James.
What, if anything, are y'all doing for your 2010 garden and beyond?
