Rushton was a builder of canvas canoes and Adirondack guide boats. The
Sairy Gamp was a small boat made ribbed lapstrake style of Cedar. Cedar was
also used for the fittings. The canoe was 9 feet long and weighed 10 1/2
pounds. George only weighed 110 pounds and was a very small fellow.
