falls into place. I know my Six Degrees was largely ignored. Why look at facts when one can hide their head in the sand. Between the garden and sewing and canning and all the other *real* stuff one does around ye ol' home, it doesn't leave all that much time for the computer. Had I as much time as it would have required, I wouldn't have had to sit and wonder and try to find the steel threads instead of simply unraveling yarn.
And had I the time to sit and think and just ponder things, I probably would have had a V-8 moment much sooner.
The questions about how did Teflon get to Chicago? Why did he end up in Chicago? How the heck did he hook up with first Ayers Sr. and then the son?
I mean, talk about a dumb arse. I did read his terribly boring book. The I shoulddas are long.

Forget socialism folks, let's cut straight to the chase. COMMUNISM!
Plus, I do have to wonder why some people find it necessary to attack others and make silly, YES, silly comments like "do you really think that personal insults help the search for truth" when NO ONE was personally insulting AND the *supposed* insultee is NOT looking for truth!
Lynda, an inveterate "Bush basher" who doesn't wear tunnel vision glasses and can see the evil regardless of the party and thinks the Bush bashing should pale in comparison to Teflon bashing only it won't happen. Mores the pity!

Ask yourself the same question Gene. When is enough, enough on
politics? I wasn't searching for any kind of truth, I was stating my
opinion. I take it as a personal insult every time you write 'The
Revolution is BO...blah blah blah'.. You are entitled to believe anyway
you want, just as I am. I resent, however, your comments that reflect
your views that socialism is a good thing. I am sick to death of Bush
and Republican bashing. It is beating a dead horse. I am tired of
feeling like I have to defend my country at every turn. I will gladly
do that, but I shouldn't have to, especially to another American. You
seem to constantly degrade and find fault with America, and that is
insulting to me. I love my country for better or for worse, but Obama is
not what the founding father's envisioned for America.
Laugh if you want, but for me, these discussions are as serious as life
and death. This is not philosophical entertainment for me. This
election scares me...it is sinking in that everything I have worked for
for the last 10 years is for nothing....My children will never inherit
this place. My granddaughter will not know freedom of speech. Had I
known that Barack Obama would bring Socialism to America, and worse,
that a majority would happily accept such, I would have never had
children. I feel that strongly about it. It occurs to me that even if
McCain wins the election this time, that Obama will be back in 2012 and
we will do this all over again. If he doesn't win this time, he will
win next time, because people want a handout in this country. They have
short memories, and don't look beyond next year. They don't look at
anything long term, how freedoms erode, or sustainable economics. I
was in tears and had chest pains yesterday afternoon because I was upset
and frustrated over conversations on this list. It is the second such
time in a week. It seems that we can no longer even have a conversation
about something as wonderful as Old Books without the election/socialism
rearing its head. I am increasingly feeling less a part of Homestead.
The rift is taking its toll on me. Perhaps I should move on, or better
yet, hunker down and disappear, because people like me will soon be even
more of a target, recall this part of the subject article:
*Free speech will be curtailed through the reimposition of the Fairness
Doctrine to limit the conservative talk radio that so irritates the
liberal establishment.
It just seems to me like any voice of opposition is getting squashed or
belittled. I know I am not alone..look at how Joe the Plumber was
treated, Palin's email was broken into, Strategic Vision Polling's death
threats, the snubbing of the Florida news station, and you calling me
out here because I voiced my opinion on how I see the slant of your
posts....that you are more concerned about the sovereignty of other
countries(I can't count how many times you have mentioned this, once
again even since I started writing this response), but there have been
no comments from you as to how personal rights and freedoms will be
affected by an Obama Presidency where Democrats control the Congress and
the Judicial branch is left leaning as well. There will be no checks
and balances...all three branches of government will be liberally left
of center, pushing to the radical left by the leadership of the Party,
and there will be no brakes, no checks. There is no mention of this,
only Bush bashing and the embracement of socialist policy. That is what
I see from your posts.
