Alas, this is true. Has anyone seen any reliable figures on how small farmers could feed our population?
Here's a controversial idea...
to reduce population in the world, why do we try to feed 'our population'? Why can't we just feed 'our family and friends' with our subsistence gardens? If everyone spent an hour a day in the garden instead of the gym, it would be a different country. We'd reduce energy consumption by maybe 20%, improve our health, and become more independent. Those that can't grow either need to develop a useful skill(telemarketing is not a useful skill, IMO) or marry well.
