I KNEW you were still around, Frank! Glad to see you de-lurk!
The walnut trees-were they planted in 1999 as well?
How old and how large(diameter) are the trees?
Great timing on this post!
Oh, and the source of those failed trees?

I now have a good number of producing walnut trees but you only get
$12 a hundred weight for de-hulled walnuts. Lots of work for little
return.
I have a few persimmons, but hardly get to the "sweet" fruit since
it's a favorite of so much wildlife:)
Best to all. Frank

It could be okay, maybe, until your digital credit (money) is linked
to your palm print (easier & safer than carrying a wallet); your palm
print is used for a new smart gun, which is inoperable without the
print, and records every usage with the print; and until doors will
not open for you (literally and figuratively), without the scan. It
is always the unintended consequences.............bobford

Is this really much different than checking a drivers license or
other photo ID? Except that it's harder to falsify.

Thanks for mentioning that. I never thought to do that and hate to
see trees damaged when I nail to them, which I do a lot.

attached to the 2x4. The pen was about 7 or 8 years old, and we
had no tree damage despite the fact that many of the trees had
grown. When we pulled off the 2x4, you could see an impression,
but in a few years, that will be gone. We left no metal in the
trees. Just thought I would mention this.

The Chinese banned guns in China 40 years ago for fear of political
dissent, using children breaking a window in a gov't building as
excuse. This is from tomorrow's paper. On the left there is a
place to click for a video . It is an interesting story

I remember that post as well. I thought he was nuts to plant so many
trees, now I'm surrounded by a forest on 36 acres and completely
understand. Darn AEP cut down our lone persimmon in the go-around
before last when they were clearing trees by power lines (it wasn't
very close, but they leveled it anyway). I was not home and was
furious when I came home from work to find it gone. The previous
owner planted that tree and we were learning what to do and how to
eat persimmons.
My goodness but almost 10 years went by fast. Let's try to make the
next 10 slow down a bit. Maybe if we collectively try ... ?

Sage, I don't know if this is one of the people you know, Texas is
big, so probably a lot of strawbale builders. I found this on
