My one wish, before I die in my chosen state of TN, is to meet someone
from here who will not say to me "you're not from here are you? :)))))

There are many of my imported neighbors I like, espceially the Mexicans. But
none of them will ever be 'from around here'.

I am enchanted by expressions of local pride. It is common in the Ozarks, too. I have owned my land for over thirty years and am accepted by natives but of course I will never be 'from around here.' I have no desire to change my being 'from' Wisconsin.

I love to watch their expression when someone verbally evidences pride of place and when they are finished I tell them that I researched the contiguous forty-eight states and then many regions and looked at a large number of properties and after all that research and searching and looking at properties purposely chose to buy my place in Hurricane Hollow.

Natives are there by accident of birth. I am there for sound, chosen reasons that led to purposeful actions.

No luck involved.
