Sub Son's best friend in the USN is a farm boy from ND.
Unlikely pair, but in the Navy, on a sub, when you find someone else who
milked goats, you kind of develop a bond...:)

Personally, I am surrounded by people who mis-pronounce things all
the
time. All y'all southerners, for instance, even though you might be
quite brilliant, to my ears sound like complete "dufuses" when you
talk. I just learned to ignore it. You can't help being
influenced
by where you learned to talk. Of course, those of us who grew up in
North Dakota pronounce everything correctly all the time, and just
can't understand why the rest of you can't get it right.

We just don't dwell on it.
