From age almost 5 to 13 I lived in Richmond, CA. Can't get much blacker
than that.

Wright's church is not the least bit like the black churches I went to. Nor did any of our ministers have the church build them a $10 million home.

I've already seen part of the interview. I think the most telling part is where Wright says, and I quote "he says what he HAS TO say" about what Obama has said about him, the church and so forth and so on. Not what the truth is, not what Obama really does or feels, but what he has to say to play the game of politics. Just like in the Faith Forum where he said that his religion is a tool.

I think if most folks went to most black churches and then had gone to Wright's church when Wright was still the pastor, they wouldn't see much of a resemblance.

This is not a Barak Obama thread.

Tomorrow night on PBS, there is an interview with Rev. Wright. It's at
10 pm in my area. I hope that people will watch it and see what the
man has to say.

I've lived in the rural south most of my life and that means having
black folk around all the time as a part of your life. One of the
things that I see in my black neighbors is the hurt they feel that the
country has seen this crazy glimpse into the black church.

The black church is different than the white church and it's a big
part of my friends lives. Whether Wright is a good or bad apple, it's
a shame that this is more than most people have ever seen of the black
church.
