I've not heard of an LGD breed that doesn't bark, but I must say that
my Anatolians bark less than the pair of Komondorok I had. LGDs
generally will work in pairs or in groups, depending on how much space
and predators you have. Just having them on the place keeps the
coyotes at a distance. The new kid on the block, Buddie at 6 months,
is quite selective in barking -- and he doesn't so much bark as roar.
It would scare me.

I have to admit a weakness for donkeys, though. I have a pair of
standards who are pasture ornaments and love sponges. They aren't that
noisy though, but then maybe I just like their sunrise salutes.
