True on both accounts.
I have a donkey in my pasture at present, along with 3 horses. I am definitely enamored of Jack, though. I love to hear him bray, and he brays when he sees me outside or when Ava comes up to feed him. He's just old and spoiled.

I had Sirius for a few years, and like Rob noted, he barked a lot. We never intended on getting another one, but one kind of fell in my lap as a rescue, so Schultz joined Sirius in the pasture. They both had been guardians, not pets per se, but Sirius was always happier it seemed. Schultz always looked so sad and did not have that happy smile about him. They were both neutered males, ironically the same age, only a month apart. Once Schultz arrived, Sirius calmed down and did not bark as much, hardly at all, I say (OMG, I am starting to both think AND talk like James! ;) ) Perhaps he wasn't so stressed in his job with a partner to share the watch. I dunno. Sirius did start eating more, but always allowed Schultz to eat first. They had separate areas, but Sirius always waited for Schultz to finish before he ate.

I never had a fighting incident with the two, either with each other or other animals. The sheep adjusted fine (they were Katahdins)

If you want to see pics of them, I think you can still access my old website. I haven't done anything with it in I don't know how many years-maybe 5+ now. The pages are slow to load. Just click on Sirius and Schultz at the side.

One thing that I should have mentioned about my pyrs, but forgot cause
I've gotten used to it. They bark. Mine barks at night at every
predator that she senses. Sometimes I think she just barks to hear
herself bark. No close neighbors and the barking lets me know she is
on duty.
