Well, Johnny Depp has been known to wax poetic about local markets and fresh fruits and veggies. The problem is the markets are in France.

There's much too that. Or perhaps if it were promoted by Agelina Jolie or
Johnny Depp (who is also from Kentucky). But I'm guessing that the most
successful promoter of local foods is going to be grim necessity. When that bowl of
summer salad gets to be $12 due to the price of fuel and fertilizer and the
declining dollar, that space between the carport and the curb will begin to look
mighty like a garden spot.

Another 'eat local' book very much along the lines of Kingsolver's is Gary
Nabhan's "Coming Home to Eat." He's not a novelist so his book is not nearly
so widely known. He is the founder of Native Seed Exchange.
