Cremation was my plan for a long time. If one has access to sufficient land, I think it makes more sense to just wrap the corpse in a sheet, put it in the bottom of a hole, cover it up and plant a tree. Some would say why waste a sheet.

It takes a lot of energy to cook a body down to dust.
