I put out boxes of DeCon, or whatever it's called. It was eaten each
night. So I thought. fI kept putting it out and it kept disappearing.
A week or so later I took out a folded tarp that had been lying on a
shelf. A huge amount of the poison chunks fell out. Investigation
found that they store what they don't eat.

I suspect that most of what I put out was taken away to be consumed
later. Upstairs, they just nibbled on the bait, and then finished it
off.

Many years ago my uncle Walter mouse-proofed my grandmother's house. I
wish I had him here as a consultant because I don't see how they can
possibly get into the bedroom where I'm sleeping. There are no heating
pipes or other holes in the floor. And no food sources.... though rats
will eat about any damn thing.
