So the two numbers are totally irrelavant as to the reality of what is going
on in the work force.

Interesting. So what numbers are relevant?

Your social security numbers are outdated by the time they make the news.

The unemployment numbers are now rigged.

You'd have to do your figures on a 3 to 6 month lapse. Take the unemployment numbers that are currently being given out and multiple by 1.5, just to be extremely conservative.

We already know the housing market is going bust.

We already know that jobs are heading out faster than new Mickey D jobs can be called manufacturing.

We already know that the DOW is not an indicator as it is in the dollars of now, not the dollars of then. So, comparing it to 2000 is ridiculous!

I'd look at the number of new apps for welfare and Medicaid. When unemployment runs out and folks can't get a job or all they can find is a bunch of low paying jobs, that is where they head.

All in all, looking at the available numbers just doesn't really tell the story because it is all a game of making the numbers say what the politicians want them to say.
