And the Florida panther (upon which - YES - thousands of dollars HAVE been
spent
to right the wrongs of mankind's smug superiority). The list goes on and on.
If I
correctly remember the wording of the article on wolves a few posts back, it
referred to their "reclaimed" territory. To me, that means they were there to
begin with, que no?
My daughter and her two youngsters spent last year on a reservation in
Washington
State where she worked for the school - and where Columbus Day, for obvious
reasons, is NOT celebrated. My grandchildren learned some valuable lessons
there.
Are the reservations not just zoos for humans? The humans we're 'superior' to?
Conveniently out of the way until 'we' are in the mood to peer at them and
poke
them to see if they're still breathing? Maybe they are brothers to the wolves
after all.
There's room for all of us, I think, until one of us decides to play Boss of
the
Forest.
