I think knowing is better than not knowing. I like to consider all the
possibilities, even if I can't do anything about it.
A neighbor called this morning to ask for help in getting the last of
the pears off the tree, and asked what I was doing. I told her I was
watching the news about NK. She didn't know anything about it, but
worse, she did not know anything about NK, Kim Jong Il, policies, and
the conflict itself. She said well, you can't do anything about it, so
why are you watching it? I told her she would probably take more of an
interest in current/world events when her son turned 18 in 3 years, and
just for practice and background, perhaps she should start now to learn
about world conflicts. Then she said, but TJ is on a sub, right? And I
said, yeah, but where do you think that his sub will be parked if we
blockade or embargo Pyongyang? Why, she asked, would we blockade China
if it is North Korea that has the nuke?? And with that, I gave up.
I simply can't relate to people who don't want to know things. Not
knowing drives me crazy. (It's not a long trip, either ;) )

Tell me about it. I can't decide whether to watch television and

Thanks Lynda. I suppose I got a bit worked up last night. This military mother thing is new to me and I haven't yet got all the
coping skills down.
