Bev,
I have read somewhere that distilled or reverse osmosis water can actually leach minerals from your body.
The EPA states that mineral free water can become acidic and that
leaches minerals out of foods and your body, so I guess it's true to a
certain extent. (The acidity comes from the water dissolving CO2 from
the air). They have studies that show that harder water (more minerals)
is better for heart health than softer water. I'll try to find the studies.
I was also thinking about the distilled water. To me, that would be the
worst thing to do, because you are not taking out the volatile organic
compounds, many of which are carcinogenic. Essentially, you are
isolating them in the distillate. Yikes!
Bev, back to painting the kitchen for a while...I'll look for those
studies later.
