This subject line provides a good time to discuss the pros and cons of hilltop versus valley house locations.

There is more water in the bottoms, hollows, valleys, low places by any name. There is much more potential for wind power on the ridges. Ridge roads are generally better maintained and less affected by heavy rains. Soil is typically better in the bottoms and on shelves below hills.

I chose a hollow with year-round live water that is sheltered by hills to the north and northwest. Turns out that is good feng shui. Who woulda thunk?
